Unfortunately after an injury, the brain may struggle to receive optimal oxygen levels needed for its recovery process. When oxygen supply is insufficient, a condition called hypoxia can occur, potentially slowing down recovery and affecting overall brain function. Many experts recognize hypoxia as a secondary factor in brain health challenges, and research suggests that oxygen availability plays a role in supporting neurological function.

This is where hyperbaric oxygen therapy is explored as a wellness tool. The concept is that increasing oxygen levels in the body may support natural recovery processes and overall well-being

"Research has explored the potential of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for brain health, with studies suggesting a range of possible benefits. Some findings indicate improved sensation, language function, movement, and cerebral blood flow, as well as cognitive support. While every individual’s experience is unique, I personally felt that the extra oxygen from hyperbaric therapy made a significant difference for me. Following my doctor’s recommendation, I sought out hyperbaric services for myself. Below is my personal experience with hyperbaric and how I believe it supported my recovery and well-being."

In 2018, I was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma, a 5.5 cm tumor located on the right side of my brain. It primarily affected my eighth cranial nerve and cerebellum, which impacted several cognitive functions, including my hearing.

After undergoing surgery to remove the majority of the tumor, I sought out hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) as part of my personal recovery journey. My goal was to support my body’s natural healing process and optimize my motor function. In my experience, HBOT played a role in my overall sense of well-being and recovery.

The moment I began hyperbaric sessions, I felt a positive change. Some of my numbness immediately subsided. I was walking better, and holding a fork was no longer a challenge. That night, I slept deeply, and by morning, I noticed my tinnitus had lessened, bringing a sense of quiet and peace that supported my recovery.

Everyone’s experience with hyperbaric is unique. Some people seek it after serious injury and require medical care, while others explore it simply for better sleep and a greater sense of well-being. I encourage you to do your own research and decide if our facility is the right fit for you. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment, ensuring you find the right place to meet your needs.

“The human brain has a natural repair mechanism known as neuroplasticity, where neurons adapt and rewire to compensate for damage. Many experts recognize oxygen as a key factor in supporting this process, as it plays a crucial role in cellular energy and function.”
